Movemeant Foundation

We teach women and girls that fitness and physical movement is essential to unlocking the values of self-confidence, resiliency, commitment, balance, and community.

changing the lives of girls

Movemeant Foundation is bold in making the connection that the key to our balanced, emotionally and mentally healthy life is a strong relationship to understanding our bodies through fitness and movement.

We design impact programs that enable girls* to embody confidence and develop healthy habits so they can be successful in their future and fierce in their determination.

Generation Confident: Middle School Curriculum

With a focus on the most formative years of a girl's life—middle school— our body-positive health & wellness curriculum addresses the critical need for emotional, social and physical development for girls, with topics ranging from social media’s impact on beauty ideals to body diversity and genetics.

Meant to Move Scholarships & Grants

We award grants to a variety of young female athletes, from economically-disadvantaged communities with high incidences of health-risk behaviors to up-and-coming all-stars who require additional resources for mental, physical and emotional coaching.

Changing the lives of women THROUGH EVENTS

We Dare to Bare is a celebration of women of all shapes and sizes. With programming that ranges from boxing and hip hop to yoga and bootcamps, we turn urban centers into an inclusive fitness playground where people come together to champion body-positivity.

As a symbol of their confidence, women are encouraged to shed their shirts and proudly wear their sports bras as they sweat it out among their body-positive community and raise funds for Movemeant’s impact programs.

Changing the lives of women THROUGH GRANTS

WELLNESS FOR ALL GRANT

Wellness is the active process of living and achieving a healthy, fulfilling life. And we believe this a human right – accessible to every mind, body, and soul.

In partnership with Athleta, we’ve launched a $100,000 grant program to empower and amplify women and girls, businesses, and organizations that are committed to making wellness accessible for all.

Together, we are providing financial grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 to female, women of color entrepreneurs and organizations committed to making wellness and fitness more inclusive to female BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities.

COVID-19 RELIEF GRANT

These are unprecedented times for our fitness and wellness community, and one that calls for a thoughtful response and a provision of care for those impacted by studio slow downs and closures.

Just like those in other areas of our service communities who have suddenly found themselves out of work, Movemeant Foundation's response is that of action and empowerment.

With schools no longer in session at this time, Movemeant has reallocated funds from our school curriculum programs to those at the heart of our organization and who champion our mission daily: our Fitness and Wellness Instructors
